RIVERSIDE FELLOWSHIP ANNUAL MEETING: Then the World Will Know
Riverside Fellowship will be holding its “Annual Meeting” on Sunday, October 19th. The meeting will follow the Sunday Morning Worship Service and will last about an hour. Lunch will be provided by Jimmy John’s. The meeting is open to all members and regular attenders of Riverside Fellowship, as well as anyone who is deeply interested in the future ministry of our church. The purpose of our Annual Meeting is three-fold. We will celebrate all that the Lord has done in us and through us in the past year. We will communicate what lies directly ahead for us in the year to come. Finally, we will consecrate ourselves to the mission the Lord has given us as a faith family. We will also be voting on adding new members to our Board of Directors as well. That vote will be taken by members of the body. You can meet the nominees and hear their stories by watching the testimony videos posted below.
We hope you will make plans to join us for this exciting Sunday of worship and ministry!
NOMINEES FOR THE 2026 BOARD OF DIRECTORS
At our Annual Meeting on October 19th, Riverside Fellowship will vote to affirm two members to our Board of Directors. The first nominee is Buff Groth who has been serving on board since the beginning of Riverside Fellowship. Buff has served as the head of our Financial Team and is being re-elected to that role for another three year term. The current Board is putting forth Heather Carswell as a nominee as a new board member, with her three-year term beginning in January 2026. Heather and her husband Kevin have been a part of Riverside from the very early days. She has served in a number of roles, most notably on our Worship Planning Team and in creating several graphics and signs for Riverside, including the church’s logo. The new board comprised of six members plus the pastor will begin their role in January 2026. The vote that will take place on Sunday, October 19th is a vote for each nominee presented below. Church members (over the age of 18) will be allowed to vote in the affirmative or in the negative for each nominee individually. We ask every member of Riverside Fellowship to prayer carefully and thoroughly about this decision, seeking the Holy Spirit for His guidance and direction.

Buff Groth
Buff Groth and his wife Debbie are both natives of Middle Tennessee. They have been a part of Riverside Fellowship from the very beginning and have played an important part in helping us grow to the point where we are as a faith family today. Buff has served as the head of our Financial Team along with countless other duties including Sunday Morning Setup Team. Buff’s nomination is to affirm him for a new three-year term that will begin in January 2026.
Heather Carswell
Heather Carswell and her husband Kevin are natives of Middle Tennessee. They have two children – Jackson (age 23) is a 4th year apprentice in the Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Union and Katherine (age 21) is a junior Nursing Student at UT-Knoxville. Kevin is on the road often as a Video Producer for major acts including Michael Buble, Keith Urban, and others. Heather is a graphic designer and has used her skills for Riverside Fellowship since they came to Riverside Fellowship in the very early days of the church. Heather was asked to help the new church design a logo and she created the logo that we still use today. Heather’s role on the Board, if affirmed by the congregation, will begin in January 2026.
